OkTreat is a community pet-care platform where members help care for other pets, earn TreatCoins through eligible participation, and use them for supported pet care when they need help. The idea is simple: Help a Pet → Earn TreatCoins → Get Pet Care.
How does the pet-sitting exchange work?
- Set up your pet information. Describe your pet’s routine, care needs and the information a sitter should know.
- Look for a suitable arrangement. Discuss dates, location, responsibilities and compatibility with another member. Check the current app for available services.
- Help another pet owner. Eligible completed participation can earn TreatCoins under the current platform rules.
- Use your credits for supported care. Arrange help for your own pet when a suitable member is available. You do not have to receive care from the same person you helped.
An example of reciprocal pet care
Imagine that you help care for one member’s pet while they are away. Later, a different participating member helps with your pet. TreatCoins support that wider exchange instead of requiring the first owner to return the favour directly. This example illustrates the model; it does not promise a particular credit rate or available booking.
What should you agree before pet sitting?
- Meet first and discuss whether the pet, sitter and care setting are suitable.
- Agree feeding, exercise, supervision, dates, handover and emergency contacts.
- Check the current credit requirements, cancellation terms and responsibilities before confirming.
- Explain relevant behavioural or health needs and agree what to do if the owner cannot be reached.
Use the meet-and-greet checklist and emergency information guide to prepare. A member profile or credit balance does not guarantee suitability, availability or safety.
What are TreatCoins?
TreatCoins support eligible participation within OkTreat’s pet-care community. Read how TreatCoins work for the distinction between credits, cash and the separate ALOHA project. Current in-app rules govern earning and use.
How do Smart Pet Tags fit in?
OkTreat’s Smart Pet Tags connect a QR code to a digital pet profile. A finder can use a compatible smartphone to see the information you choose to share and contact you. A Smart Tag is a separate identification feature, not proof that someone is suitable to care for your pet. Read the Smart Tag and microchip comparison.
